Govt. SPMR College Commerce, Jammu, Celebrates 555th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji

In honor of the upcoming 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, SPMR College of Commerce Jammu organised an enlightening lecture on 13/11/2024 focusing on the teachings and legacy of the revered Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The event, held at the college auditorium, attracted students, faculty, and community members who were eager to learn about Guru Nanak’s profound impact on spirituality, humanity, and social justice.

The day began with lamp lightening thereafter a welcome address was delivered by Dr. Mamta Rani, HOD of Punjabi department. After this a soulful poetry session was started where students recited their poems based on the spiritual wisdom imparted by the Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
This was followed by a special lecture by former Additional Secretary of J&K Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Dr. Arvinder Singh Aman. He shared insights into Guru Nanak Dev Ji's message of oneness, compassion, and selfless service. He also stressed upon the importance of moral values in shaping the behavior of students which will positively contribute to the society.
Later Prof. Pawan Kumar Gupta, HOD of Commerce department, also spoke about the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
Dr. Rajinder Singh, Principal of the college has expressed his gratitude towards the students and staff for their active participation in the event, saying, “Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s message of love, peace, and equality continues to inspire us. Today’s celebration was a reminder of the values that bind us as a community, regardless of our background or beliefs.”
At the end of the programme, 'Kada Prasad' was served to students and staff.
