GOVT. SPMR COLLEGE OF COMMERCE, JAMMU ORGANIZED POWER SEMINAR ON 'ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Manodarpan Psychological and Career Counseling Cell of Govt. SPMR College of Commerce Jammu
organized a power seminar on the topic 'Artificial Intelligence' in collaboration with ICT Academy,
Chennai.
Dr. Surinder Kumar, Principal of the college was the chief guest. While addressing the students, he gave
brief introduction about artificial intelligence. He discussed about the use of artificial intelligence by
humans in different field such as medical, defence and corporate sector. He also emphasized that artificial
intelligence is mostly used in those fields where human cannot perform better. Prof. Ashu Manhas,
Convener Manodarpan Psychological and Career Counseling Cell, formally welcomed the gathering.
Mr. Adil Yusuf, Senior Technical Trainer ICT Academy, the resource person of the event elucidated about
the concept, history, scope and significance of artificial intelligence. He also gave examples of Google
Now, Siri and Cortana which are intelligent digital personal assistants on various platforms. All these artificial intelligence help find useful information when we ask for it using our voice. He also discussed in detail about the applications of AI in Game playing, medical diagnosis, Robotics, Natural Language Processing, E-commerce etc.
Mr. Ajaz Yusuf, Relationship Manager ICT Academy Chennai was the resource person of the second session. He had an interactive session with the students and explained them about the pros and cons of artificial intelligence. Prominent among those present were Prof. Pawan Kumar Gupta, HOD Commerce, Dr. Fayza, Prof Binny, Dr. Roomi Rani and Dr. Iesha. About 50 students attended the programme. The whole event was coordinated and managed by Prof. Ashu Manhas. The proceedings of the event were conducted by Prof. Apfan Ali and vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Jagmeet Kaur.
