Teachers day Celebration

Govt. SPMR College of Commerce celebrated Teachers’ Day with great enthusiasm by organising a special felicitation ceremony and a vibrant cultural program in the college campus. Prof. Bechan Lal, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Cluster University of Jammu was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The event honoured the invaluable contributions of teachers and recognised their unwavering commitment in shaping the future of students. The programme commenced with traditional lighting of the lamp and a welcome address by the Principal of the college. Dr. Rajinder Singh expressed deep gratitude towards the teaching faculty for their dedication and hard work. He also said that we celebrate not only professional excellence of the teachers but also the profound impact they have on the lives of young minds. He further urged the teaching community to act as Mentors and guide the students in the right directions. Later Hon’ble VC Prof. Bechan Lal interacted with the faculty members and asked them to introspect as well as ponder upon the various spheres where teachers can play significant roles in the lives of their students.
The highlight of the event was the felicitation of teachers for their outstanding contribution to education. Mementos and certificates of appreciation were presented to teachers in recognition of their commitment to academic excellence, mentorship, and the holistic development of students. In addition to the felicitation ceremony, a colourful cultural program was also organised by the students to express their love and admiration for the teachers. The programme featured a variety of performances, including traditional dances, musical performances, skits, all dedicated to their teachers. The enthusiasm and energy of the students made the event lively and heart-warming.
The event concluded with speeches from both teachers and students, sharing memorable experiences and expressing gratitude. The celebration was a perfect blend of appreciation, joy, and cultural richness, reflecting the strong bond of teachers and students. The whole programme was coordinated and managed by Dr. Deepshikha Sharma (Convener Cultural and Literary committee and NSS PO, Dr. Deepak Pathania NSS PO, Prof. Monika Mahajan, Dr. Madhu Bala ANO NCC, Prof. Sanjeev Verma, Prof. Esha Abrol and Dr. Mamta Rani.
